Prophetic Traditions

Gems from the Prophet ﷺ

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was described by his wife Aisha (RA) as "a walking Quran" — his words were concise yet carried oceans of meaning. These authentic hadith cover character, worship, relationships, and inner peace.

On Character

"The best among you are those who have the best manners and character." — Sahih Bukhari

On Speech

"Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or remain silent." — Sahih Bukhari & Muslim

On Mercy

"The merciful are shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on earth, and the One in the heavens will be merciful to you." — Sunan al-Tirmidhi

On Simplicity

"Richness is not having many possessions, but richness is being content in the soul." — Sahih Bukhari & Muslim

On Brotherhood

"None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself." — Sahih Bukhari & Muslim

On Actions

"Actions are judged by intentions, and every person will get what they intended." — Sahih Bukhari & Muslim

On Patience

"How wonderful is the affair of the believer, for all his affairs are good. If something good happens to him, he is thankful and that is good for him. If something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience and that is good for him." — Sahih Muslim

On Gentleness

"Allah is gentle and loves gentleness. He gives for gentleness what He does not give for harshness or anything else." — Sahih Muslim

On Gratitude

"He who does not thank people, does not thank Allah." — Sunan Abu Dawud

On the Heart

"Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body — if it becomes good, the whole body becomes good; if it becomes corrupt, the whole body becomes corrupt. Truly, it is the heart." — Sahih Bukhari & Muslim

Daily Remembrance

Morning & Evening Adhkar

The Prophet ﷺ taught us words to say every morning and evening that serve as a spiritual shield, a source of barakah, and a way to stay connected to Allah throughout the day. These adhkar (remembrances) protect the believer and bring tranquility.

When to recite: Morning adhkar are recited after Fajr prayer until sunrise. Evening adhkar are recited after Asr prayer until Maghrib.

Remembrance

Daily Dhikr & Tasbih

Dhikr (remembrance of Allah) is the easiest yet most rewarding form of worship. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Shall I not tell you of the best of your deeds, the purest in the sight of your Lord, which raises your rank the highest? It is the remembrance of Allah." (Tirmidhi)

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ

SubhanAllah — "Glory be to Allah"

33 times after each prayer

A tree is planted for you in Paradise for each utterance.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ

Alhamdulillah — "All praise is due to Allah"

33 times after each prayer

It fills the scales of good deeds on the Day of Judgement.

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

Allahu Akbar — "Allah is the Greatest"

34 times after each prayer

Completes 100 — all sins are forgiven even if they were like the foam of the sea.

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ

La ilaha illallah — "There is no god but Allah"

100 times daily

The best thing any prophet has ever said. It is the key to Paradise.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ

Astaghfirullah — "I seek forgiveness from Allah"

100 times daily

The Prophet ﷺ used to seek forgiveness more than 70 times a day.

SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi, SubhanAllahil-'Adhim — "Glory be to Allah and His is the praise; Glory be to Allah, the Supreme"
